Three days and several thousands of dollars later, Jim Parrott, an aesthetic industry entrepreneur and Founder of MedResults Network, the premier buying network for aesthetic practices and med-spas, takes 8th place at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Tournament.
Jim left Saturday morning to attend his very first World Series of Poker (WSOP) tournament that was held at the Planet Hollywood Hotel in Las Vegas, NV where he joined nearly 1500 other players at the tournament. He entered in the “Super Seniors No-Limit Hold ‘em” game which began on Sunday morning and ended Tuesday with the final table of 10 players.
“When I started there were many, many players in my specific game,” said Jim. “I thought I would be lucky to just survive the first day. I never thought in a million years that I would finish in 8th place!”
The tournament started with almost 1500 players and Jim Parrott managed to make it past the first round which reduced the total number of players to approximately 500. By late Monday, Jim had moved up the ranks to 24, and after an outstanding hand later in the evening, he moved into 4th place—his best position of the tournament. After a grueling two days, Jim finally made it to the final table for the start of their Tuesday morning, final round. At one stage, Jim thought he had lost and as he stood up and began to collect his belongings realized he had actually won the hand and was asked to sit back down and continue playing.
Jim ended his game in 8th place! An outstanding result for a 75 year old player, especially when he was competing against three professional poker players and a handful of other very skilled seniors!
“All I wanted was to survive the first day of the tournament, go home with a little money in my pocket and a good story to tell,” laughed Jim. “I never imagined I would be able to progress that far in the game.”
